How to apply for NSFAS

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) funds tuition, accommodation and allowances for qualifying students at public universities and TVET colleges.

Who qualifies?

South African citizens
Combined household income of R350 000 or less per year (R600 000 for persons with disabilities)
SASSA grant recipients automatically meet the financial criteria
Studying or planning to study at a public university or TVET college

Documents you need

Your ID or birth certificate
IDs of parents, guardian or spouse
Proof of income (if applicable)
Disability Annexure A form (if applicable)

How to apply

Go to my.nsfas.org.za and click "Register"
Create your myNSFAS account with your ID number and email
Log in and click the "APPLY" tab
Complete your details and upload your documents
Submit and track your status on your myNSFAS account
